Speak the Word , Power thru Faith
Theme: Gen. chapter one
I believe in the word of faith doctrine , as the apostle’s preached . Not to be confused with the fleshly prosperity movement , of the TBN’er’s . Although , I do not believe God meant for us to be poor , and in constant lack of material things , as James 1:4 , and III John:2 , refer to . KEY: In order for us to have good physical health , our spirit and soul (spiritual) has to be in good health .God wants us to put ALL our faith (confidence) in His Son Jesus Christ . In return for our faith in Jesus Christ , God will bless us with power from the Holy Ghost , while on this earth . How do we activate our faith in Jesus Christ? The next six verses are clear . James 2:17--- “Even so faith , if it hath NOT works is dead , being alone”. James 2:20-24--- “But wilt thou know , O’vain man , that faith without works is dead”? (21)--- “Was not Abraham our father justified by works , when he had offered Isaac his son upon the alter”? (22)--- “Seest thou how faith wrought with his works , and by works was faith made perfect”? (23)--- “And the scripture was fulfilled which sayeth , Abraham believed God , and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the friend of God”. (24)--- “Ye see then how that by works , a man is justified , and NOT by faith only”.
So we learn , it takes works along with faith , that activates our faith . In Acts 14:8-10 , we find a certain man at Lystra , being crippled from birth , who had faith to be healed , but did not activate his faith with works . In verse (10) , the apostle Paul commands the man to activate his faith with works , by telling the man to stand upright on his feet . When the man leaped and walked (his works) , by his faith (he already had) the man received his miracle of healing . Notice , Paul did not pray the prayer of faith for the man to be healed . Paul was telling the man (and us) , the man was more than halfway there to receiving his answer . He already had faith that God would heal him . The only thing the man needed to do , was to stand up on his feet .That was the man’s works . Now if the man had not had faith in Jesus Christ to be healed , Paul would have prayed the prayer of faith , for the man to be healed. No matter which way it went ,Jesus Christ of Nazareth receives the glory for the man’s miracle . That’s what pleases God.
There are two kinds of works . One kind of works , is alms deeds or deeds . Alms deeds is paying your tithes and offerings, giving to the poor , etc. Deeds are more physical things that are done , such as: baptism in water is the first deed of works ,a new born christian is to do; The man in Acts 14:10 , leaped and walked , was his works , etc. The second kind of works is an act of works . That can be either speaking out loud , or thinking in your mind (your thought) to God , as praying. Acts 14:10 is a good example of speaking the word out loud , “Stand upright on thy feet”.
Another good example of an act of works is Rom .10:9&10--- “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth”(speaking the word out loud) , to be born again . Many preacher’s are wrong when they say , “there are no works involved when you are saved (born again)”. They should say, “there are no works of deeds or alms deeds , to be born again for salvation”. Rom .3:28---“Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law”. Putting a fleece before God is a good example of thinking your prayer to God in your mind , so Satan can not disturb your fleece . The best example I can think of is ,the prayer of faith , in which prayer is an act of works (out loud or in your thought form) , as back to Rom .10:9&10 (speaking the word out loud) , and of faith (believing in thine heart) , as Heb.11:1 tells us . So the prayer of faith is an act of works and believing in thine heart for the subject you are praying to God for. In Satan’s army , the sinner speaks the word also , as through incantations and spells (curses) . The sinner commands Satan’s devil’s (demon’s) that are indwelt in that person’s temple (body , soul , and spirit) to accompany the curse that person sends to someone else or their possessions (to include animal’s) , and war against the other person (opponent). The person with the strongest devil’s wins . That’s called “having your faith in Satan”. See my set of papers “Having the Right Power”, for more clarification on this matter . On the other hand , christian’s are to have their faith in Jesus Christ . We christian’s do not command God to do anything . We ask , as in praying . We put a demand on God’s power through our faith in His Son, Jesus Christ . Rom .12:14--- “Bless them which persecute you: bless , and curse not”. Here are a few things people cause to happen to other’s , through the power of the tongue (curses) : strokes , heart attacks , accidents , etc . Prov .18:21--- “Death and life are in the power of the tongue : and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof”. Matt .12:36&37--- “But I say unto you , That every idle word that men shall speak , they shall give account thereof in the day of judgement”. (37)--- “For by thy words thou shalt be justified , and by thy words thou shalt be condemned”.
Verse 36 and part (B) of verse 37 , refers to the sinner . Part (A) of verse 37 , refers to the christian . Believe it or not , most people who claim to be christian’s , fight in spiritual warfare , throw curses , instead of having their faith in Jesus Christ . They don’t believe the apostle Paul was telling the truth , in Eph .6:12 . The more faith we have in Jesus Christ , as speaking the word (being our act of works) , the more power we will have against Satan and his devil’s . (1) Whether we are praying the prayer of faith to accept Jesus Christ as our saviour , (2) praying the prayer of faith , as asking Jesus Christ to forgive us of sins , each time we commit them , (3) praying the prayer of faith for healing , or (4) simply taking our authority over Satan or his devil’s , as speaking the word is very important , as in Jude 9 . When we speak the word , we start , and , or end by saying “in the name of Jesus Christ”, as the apostle Peter gave us a great example in Acts 3:6 , because Jesus Christ is the one who gives us that authority and power , by having our faith in Him.
IN Matt .8:8 , the centurian was talking to Jesus physically , having his faith in Jesus Christ , and asking Jesus to perform an act of works , by simply speaking the word , for his servant to be healed . When someone speaks the word and has faith for someone else , that person is , what is called , standing in the gap for that person . Rom .15:1--- “We then that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak , and not to please ourselves”. By the way , however powerful devil’s are in a sinner , that is the extent of power , that sinner has . For the christian , however much faith in Jesus Christ he or she has , is their power . Us christian’s can ask Jesus Christ , as the apostle’s did in Luke 17:5 “Increase our faith”, and as verse 6 tells us , our answer or our victory has come , or is on the way . God was showing us in the very first chapter of His word , Gen. chp. one , to speak the word . Every time GOD SAID ,= IT WAS SO. Every time GOD SAID , He knew (had faith) Jesus would perform the work (an act of works) , by His POWER , the Holy Ghost .
Everytime we SPEAK THE WORD , we are CALLING THINGS THAT ARE NOT , AS THOUGH THEY WERE . SPEAKING them into EXISTANCE as GOD did in Rom .4:17 . Just as GOD called those things which be not as though they were ,for Abraham , Jesus Christ gave us that authority to do so in Matt .10:1&8 , and other places , because of His atoning blood , that He shed on the cross . Many preacher’s don’t agree with this , but they just don’t understand, that we are to perform acts of works for GOD to work through us . That is the whole reason we are to have faith in Jesus Christ AND do works of deeds AND acts of works , to receive our answers , miracles , and VICTORIES . Don’t forget to do what this next verse tells you to do . II Cor .4:15--- “For all things are for your sakes , that the abundant grace might through the THANKSGIVING of many redound to the glory of GOD”.
